Summary: Drabble. An away team scouts a nice, "safe" planet for possible shore leave. Birthday present for Jade.
Chakotay fired his phaser from the shelter of the rock he and Janeway crouched behind. A short scream sounded from one of the aliens that had ambushed the away team.
"Nice shot." Janeway targeted a gray shape slinking around the nearest tree.
"Thanks. Same to you."
Three other crewmembers fired from safety, protecting a wounded colleague. An ion storm was disrupting Voyager's transporters, preventing beam-out.
"So much for shore leave. Any ideas?" A flying rock shard nicked her forehead.
"Just one." Chakotay's phaser dropped another attacker.
"Which is?"
"Tuvok will never let you and me off the ship together again."
